Quote follow-up calculator: what are unanswered quotes costing you?

You sent the quote. They didn't answer. Nobody followed up, because everybody was busy doing the work.

It happens in every kind of business. A contractor's estimate. A distributor's quote on a big order. A CPA's engagement letter. Put in four numbers and see roughly what the quiet ones add up to in a year.

Takes about a minute. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

This quote follow-up calculator shows the cost of unanswered quotes.

Your numbers

Estimates, bids, quotes, proposals, engagement letters. A rough count is fine.

What a typical one is worth when it closes.

No answer from them, and no second touch from you. Not sure? Count last month's.

Assumption, not a statistic. I start at 10% to stay conservative. If you know your number, use it.

A free 30-minute call

A free look at one or two workflows where money moves in your business: getting work, doing the work, getting paid, or the back office behind them. You'll leave knowing the bottleneck and the direction I'd take.

Or a straight answer: if a tool you already pay for handles it, or I'm not the right person for it, I'll tell you and point you to who is.

Questions people ask

How is the number calculated?

Quotes per month, times 12, times the share that go quiet, times the close rate, times your average job value. Then I round down. The page shows each step with your own numbers so you can check it.

Where does the 10% close rate come from?

It's an assumption, not a statistic. I picked a low number on purpose so the result doesn't oversell. If you know how often a follow-up brings a job back in your business, type that in instead.

Is this profit or revenue?

Revenue. It's the sales value of the work, before your costs. Apply your own margin to see what it means for profit.

What counts as a quote that went quiet?

One where the customer didn't answer and nobody on your side followed up. If they said no, or you followed up and still heard nothing, leave it out.

I send proposals or engagement letters, not quotes. Does this still work?

Yes. The math is the same for a contractor's estimate, a distributor's quote, or a CPA's engagement letter. Use whatever you send and the average value of the work when it closes.

Do you save my numbers?

No. The math runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to me or stored.
